He attended school through 4th grade. Charlie is a sculptor and a painter. Charlie and his wife Anne live in Pink Lily, Alabama, creating an environment of this sculpture from “as found” metal objects.

After an accident which left him bedridden in 1984, Charlie began making his sculpture which can reach 20’ in height. Some have abstract qualities. There are messages of humanity Charlie wants to convey with he art that he can not convey with words. Charlie is also an accomplished painter. Using house paint and green plastic garden hose for framing, his work is at once abstract, humorous and literal.
