Harold Crowell brings a fresh, imaginative and unique style to the art community. His painting are large expressionistic works which combine bold and unusual combinations of color and form.  He is a developmentally disabled native of Salisbury, North Carolina who has received nationwide acclaim for his work.

He paints he says, " because I am an artist."

His large acrylic works are bright, joyful and pleasing to the eye. T Themes from Harold's life include family, friends and people he has met, scenes from nature and places he has seen. His brilliant imagination combined with his natural talent for design and color, create an exceptional artist.

Harold's artwork was chosen for the first National Exhibition of Art for people with a mental handicap in Ebensburg, PA, and represented the United States for international competition in London, England. His work was also chosen to represent North Carolina for the opening of the Very Special Arts Gallery in Washington, DC.
