Gayleen was born in Vermont and had been drawing and telling stories of her imaginary "Raimbillis Cousins" through her art since grade school. She would sometimes paint with Vermont landscapes with quarries and mills as well as happy pictures of Nickelodeons, friends and pets. Usually Gayleen painted with oil, crayon, and watercolor on board and paper. She had actively worked at GRACE (Grass Roots Art and Community Efforts) in Vermont and has had a major exhibition of her work shown at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland in 2003.
